What It Helps With

Neuromodulators are one of the most effective and subtle ways to refresh your appearance—softening the lines caused by everyday expressions like smiling, frowning, and raising your brows.

At The Face Place, we take a highly personalized approach to treatment, ensuring results that look smooth, natural, and entirely you. We start with a thorough consultation to discuss your goals, facial movement, and expected outcomes.

Whether you’re hoping to soften forehead lines, brighten the eye area, or simply look a little more rested, neuromodulators can give you that well-rested glow without changing your features.

With precise technique and a gentle hand, your expressions remain natural while your skin looks refreshed, confident, and subtly uplifted. Your comfort and confidence are at the center of every step—from the first conversation to follow-up support—so you always feel informed, cared for, and genuinely excited about what you see in the mirror.

What are neuromodulator injections? (E.g. Botox®, Dysport®, Nuceiva®, Xeomin®)

Botox at The Face Place

Neuromodulators may be a great fit if you’re hoping to:

refresh areas that look tired or tense

boost everyday confidence with a subtle glow

prevent lines from deepening over time

soften fine lines and expression wrinkles

look well-rested (even when life is busy)

maintain natural facial movement

dermal fillers

Not sure which one is right for you? We’ll help you decide — no pressure, ever.

Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are more about structure and support. They are injected into specific areas to add or restore volume that's been lost with age, to enhance facial contours, or soften deeper lines and folds.

Botox vs fillers, what's the difference?

Neuromodulators (like Botox) and dermal fillers are both injectable treatments, but work in very different ways and for different goals.

Neuromodulators work by relaxing specific facial muscles, which helps soften expression lines caused by things like frowning, squinting, or raising your eyebrows.

Neuromodulator FAQS

Neuromodulators have been used safely for decades for both medicinal and cosmetic uses. When performed using careful dosing and refined technique, they are considered very safe. During your consultation, we review your medical history to ensure this treatment is appropriate for you.

Are neuromodulators safe?

There is essentially no downtime. You may notice tiny injection marks or mild redness that fade quickly, and you can return to your day right away. There are a few simple post-treatment guidelines, such as avoiding intense exercise and not applying pressure to the treated areas for a short period of time, but these are easy to follow and will be reviewed with you at your appointment.

Is there any downtime?

Most appointments take 15-20 minutes. The initial consultation takes slightly longer as we take time to understand your goals and movement patterns, and provide personalized recommendations and education.

How long does an appointment take?

Neurmodulator injections for TMJD are not currently offered at The Face Place. TMJ concerns can have many underlying causes, and a proper assessment by a dental professional is the best first step to ensure the condition is accurately diagnosed and managed. While we do offer masseter injections for cosmetic jawline slimming, we are focused on cosmetic treatments and do not treat TMJD. If you believe you are experiencing TMJ-related pain, please consult your dentist, who can assess your symptoms and guide you toward the most appropriate treatment options.

Do you offer neuromodulator injections for TMJ disorder (TMJD)?

Yes, we offer neuromodulator treatments for hyperhidrosis for the underarms. Treatment works by temporarily blocking the signals that stimulate sweat glands, helping reduce excessive sweating in the treated area. In some cases, treatment for hyperhidrosis may be eligible for coverage by private insurance plans when certain criteria are met. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to verify your individual coverage.

Do you offer neuromodulator treatments for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)?

You’re in great hands. We never rush decisions. Your consultation includes education, honest recommendations, and space to ask every question before you choose anything.

What if I’m nervous or new to Botox?

Neuromodulators can soften lines and refine movement in many areas of the face. Common treatment zones include the forehead, frown lines between the brows, and crow’s feet around the eyes. They can also be used in more targeted ways to address concerns such as:

What areas can Botox treat?

  • bunny lines on the nose
  • a gummy smile
  • downturned corners of the mouth
  • a dimpled chin
  • vertical lip lines
  • neck bands (platysmal bands)
  • masseter muscles for jawline slimming or teeth grinding
  • subtle eyebrow lift
  • underarms for hyperhidrosis (excess sweating)

Typically 3–4 months, depending on your unique facial movements and treatment plan. Maintenance visits are required to maintain results.

How long do results last?

You’ll usually start to notice a softening of lines within 3-5 days, though the onset can vary slightly depending on which neuromodulator is used. The effect develops gradually, with the full result settling in around two weeks.

How soon will I see results?

The number of units used for treatment is based on your unique anatomy, muscle strength, movement patterns, and aesthetic goals. For this reason, the appropriate number of units needed can only be determined after a proper assessment and consultation.

How do I know how many units I will need?

Most clients describe Botox as a quick pinch that’s over before you know it. We use gentle techniques to keep you comfortable throughout.

Does it hurt?

Yes! Our approach focuses on softening lines while preserving real expression. You’ll look like you… just a little more rested.

Will I still look like myself?

“Neuromodulator” is a broad medical term that refers to injectable medications used to soften expression lines by relaxing specific facial muscles. It includes well known brands such as Botox®, Dysport®, Nuceiva®, and Xeomin®.

What does the term neuromodulator mean?

All of these brands work in a very similar way. They differ slightly in how quickly they take effect, and how they diffuse in the muscle.

What is the difference between Botox®, Dysport®, Nuceiva®, and Xeomin®?

The Face Place does not currently offer neuromodulator treatments for chronic migraines. Migraine management requires a thorough assessment to confirm the type of headache, rule out other causes, and ensure that first-line treatments have been explored. If you are seeking migraine treatment, the best next step is to speak with your primary care provider or a neurologist, who can guide you through the proper assessment.
